This 100 gram exclusive Teabook tea cake is the perfect basic entry-level raw pu-erh tea!
Tasting Notes: Fresh, Floral, Vegetal
Harvested from tea trees 50+ years old in the Lincang area.
A clean young raw pu-erh with subtle honey floral sweetness.
Subtle dryness and astringency towards the end of the steepings, which can be avoided with lowering the brewing temperatures towards the end.
This lovely tea finishes with a sweet honey-like feeling lingering, and is good for any beginer to Raw Puerh at a affordable price.
"For new drinkers, especially those who have yet to pick up their first gaiwan, this tea is a must. Its ability to preform well grandpa style is a huge selling-point, and will really help ease newcomers into the vast and seemingly endless world of puerh."
A 2017 drought in Yunnan made it difficult to pick leaves from young trees and still retain good quality, so this cake is composed of tea trees all over 300 years old.
Tea master tip: Due to drought, you only need to use 2 grams of this tea when brewing. This will give you the most pleasant aroma and sweetness...if you use more, you may cover up its more nuanced traits!
This tea comes from Denong's private tea gardens in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan.
Region: Xishuangbanna, Yunnan

2016 Ripe Tea Cake | Denong
This is our top recommendation for Quality Ripe Puerh. It is the highest level standard of Menghai Ripe Puerh, and can be drunk now and/or aged. This will become a staple of any puerh drinkers tea collection.
Honoring the meticulous ripening process this Pu-erh has undergone, it delivers pleasant woodsy, cooling flavors that envelop your mouth and are complemented with a returning sweetness in every sip. The fragrant, herbal notes that develop with every brew deepen alongside a beautiful maroon liquor.
This tea has a very strong medicinal smell, reminiscent of Chinese medicine and incense. This tea will continue to develop year after year.
